Please join us for a reading of The Color Kittens by Margaret Wise Brown with illustrations by Alice and Martin Provensen. After the story, we will look at primary and secondary colors and use cohesion, adhesion, and capillary action to mix colors. Science Story Time allows young scientists to develop literacy and STEM skills as well as build vocabulary by actively participating in the program. Activities designed for ages 3-6. All welcome. Materials are not necessary, but feel free to have a water, three jars, food coloring, and yarn on hand.

WonderLab Dive Deeper for All Ages – Marine Protected Areas

In this special edition of Dive Deeper, we will be talking about why it is important to protect nature and the way humans do that in the form of Marine Protected Areas. We will explore where on Earth we can visit protected ocean and what it actually means for the ocean to be protected. We will illustrate some of the challenges they face through an experiment using a pan of water, some food coloring, sand or dirt and some liquid soap. This Dive Deeper will cover Indiana academic elementary and middle school standards for Life Science and Earth and Atmospheric science.
