“Death By Delivery”

Unitarian Universalist Church

“Death By Delivery” is a searing portrait of the cost of racism in America.

Maternal mortality rates are higher today than there were in 1987. The United States is one of only eight countries, including Afghanistan and South Sudan, where the rate is going up. Black women are four times more likely to die during childbirth regardless of their socioeconimic status and education.

The short film will be followed by an open discussion moderated by Bloomington gynecologist Dr. Clark Brittain. Pizza and beverages will be provided.

The even will be co-hosted by the UU’s Reproductive & Racial Justice Task Forces and MCNOW’s Reproductive & Racial Justice Committees. Visit MonroeCounty NOW on Facebook.

An Important Message from Bloom Magazine

For the past 14 years, we have been publishing Bloom, a free, bimonthly cultural and lifestyle magazine serving Bloomington, Indiana, and surrounding communities. We have four missions: to support local businesses, local charities, local arts, and diversity. We are an integral part of the fabric of this community.

Like so many small businesses (4 employees), we are facing huge challenges in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope to be able to continue producing the magazine and our website, magbloom.com, but we need your help.

Please consider donating to our GoFundMe drive using the link below. Thank you!
