Join us as Harold F. Mailand discusses the history of the coverlet, a popular bed covering in America from the 1830s through the end of the Civil War. Mr. Mailand has been an instructor for “Care of Textiles” at the Campbell Center for Historic Preservation Studies since 2002 and was recently the 2015 recipient of the award for outstanding contributions to the field of textiles from The Textile Specialty Group of AIC. Learn more about the caring and collecting process of coverlets with expert anecdotal information and highlights from the Wylie House collection.
