Lecture with Christopher Beckwith – “The Law of the God of Heaven and the Dharma in the Classical Age vs. Modernism”

Lindley Hall 102, IU Bloomington
http://www.indiana.edu/~csres/home.php

The Classical order did not appear suddenly, fully formed. It was preceded by a century of wars, migrations, and religious-philosophical events before it was established by the Scythian and Persian empires, which ruled or dominated most of known Eurasia for two centuries. The Law of the God of Heaven of Zoroaster and Darius and Ezra was thus introduced into what is now Afghanistan and Pakistan, producing Early Buddhism and Early Brahmanism.
