The Breeze Bends the Grass at the Brown County Playhouse

07:30 pm
Brown County Playhouse (70 S. Van Buren St., Nashville)
http://browncountyplayhouse.tix.com/Event.asp?Event=464798

The Breeze Bends the Grass, written by Arbutus Cunningham and Krista Detor is a musical window into the lives, choices and varied artwork of four women artists in Indiana in the early 20th century. This show aims to not only illuminate the achievements of these women, but also the conditions in which they struggled to hone their techniques and offer the results of their labor to the world.

This major debut will serve as a fundraiser and awareness builder for the Brown County Art Guild (with 10% of those dollars going to TC Steele Historical Site’s Selma Steele Garden fund) and the artistic heritage of the Brown County Art Colony. The Memorial Day week-end performance venue is the Brown County Playhouse, with an Open House to be held at the Brown County Art Guild prior to the performance on opening night, Friday, May 25. The cast will be in full period costume, and Krista Detor (who portrays Marie Goth) will entertain on Marie Goth’s Baby Grand piano at the Guild before the event.

Show runs May 25-26. Purchase tickets on website.

Cost: $15 - $18
