The Flavor Run – Headlined by Christel House

Have fun and support a local charity. Indianapolis is hosting it’s very first Flavor Run this year. It is not your traditional color run, because the powder thrown at the runners is fruit flavored. For every runner who signs up with our code, Christel House will receive a $5 donation.

Hatha Yoga on Saturdays

Taught by Allana Radecki who has been teaching Hatha Yoga since 1988. Her “Yoga from the Inside Out,” draws upon the foundation poses of Hatha Yoga, guided by the breath, to develop a balanced, mindful practice. Allana’s method adapts easily to all ages and levels of practice and is helpful to people with special needs, injuries and joint replacements.

On Saturdays April 16th, April 23rd and April 30th, Jacobs School of Music string students perform a variety of classical repertoire in the parlor of the historic house museum. Under the direction of the Pacifica Quartet, the Jacob School of Music’s quartet-in-residence, these brilliant young musicians delight and entertain guests with their incredible talent. The museum is an ideal and intimate setting in which to enjoy this special musical experience. Doors open at 2:30.

Salt Creek Brewery 5K Run/Walk

Salt Creek Brewery hosts its 3rd annual 5K run and walk on Saturday, April 16 at 4 p.m. Race proceeds benefit Needmore Elementary School.

All registrants will enjoy a glass of either craft beer (must be 21+) or craft soda after the race. Advance registrants also receive a souvenir pint glass (any extras will be given first-come first-served to same day registrants).

Advance registration for $20 is available online through April 14 at 11:30 p.m. at http://mag7raceseries.com. Same day registration for $22 will be offered on April 16 from 3 to 3:45 p.m.

Free registration is available to children who live in the local Needmore community. Instructions on how to claim a free entry for an eligible child are available on the race registration page listed above.

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 overall runners and walkers (both male and female), plus age group prizes for runners only. The all-ages event also includes an optional post-race challenge, where attendees can try to “catch” Needmore’s sort-of-legendary Trogdon Lane Monster, the race’s mascot.

The Salt Creek Brewery 5K is a member of the 2016 Mag 7 Racing Series.

Musical Cabaret at the Farmstead

Enjoy stories about the life of Daisy Hinkle Garton and music important during her lifetime performed by Connie Shakalis, soprano, and Dr. Vicki King, pianist. The event will be held Saturday, April 16, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 17, at 2 p.m. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served. Proceeds will help fund exterior lighting improvements at the site. Seating is limited. The Farmstead is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is owned and maintained by Bloomington Restorations, Inc.
