Garlic Fest and Community Art Fair

Garlic Inc is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization raising awareness of the role food plays in our health

At Bloomington’s Third Street Park on Labor Day weekend, the Bloomington Garlic Fest will present live music and garlic food freshly prepared by some of Bloomington top restaurant. Food starts at $3 and admission is free. The featured bands are Gordon Bonham Blues Band, W.C Handy Award Winner-“The Dynamics” and “Soul Street”, Jenn Christy, “Fist Full of Bacon” also featuring all the way from Australia “Storm Cellar”. Music starts at noon to 10pm Saturday and noon to 8pm on Sunday (times are approximate). The Bloomington Garlic Fest is an outside event, rain or shine, so bring your chairs, sun screen and breath mints. See you at the Third Street Park for this all star line up. Admission is free and you can enter the cooking contest to win cash. Bring the kiddos for some food education and fun!

Writing through Trauma

This expressive writing class will be a supportive space for adult writers who are negotiating difficult topics, regardless of genre or experience. We will discuss writing our trauma from a safe space, self-care, critical reading, how to give and receive constructive criticism, what writing style works best for us and why, finding our voices, and point of view among other topics. At least 30 minutes of every session will be devoted to in-class writing. Writers are encouraged to share their work, but not required. Regular but brief out-of-class writing and reading will be assigned for in-class discussion. Maximum 15 participants. Minimum 4 registrants. All genders welcome. Some scholarships available.
