2020, The Year of Silver Linings

10:00 am to 05:30 pm on Jan 24
By Hand Gallery
http://www.byhandgallery.com

As we near the end of an almost inconceivable year, we at By Hand Gallery are wishing that all of you and yours and all of us and ours find 2020’s silver linings — in both the grand and the small ways. The nuance of the ordinary and the richness of the beautiful, and most importantly — the joys of each other. Here’s to celebrating friendship and experiencing the present with awe and wonder with a medley of work from local artists.
We welcome you to come to the gallery to find holiday cheer and discover gifts of art and craft that will exude love and gratitude to those you choose to give them to. All of it conceived by By Hand members and their friends.

Elkinsville History Tour

01:00 pm to 03:30 pm
Meet in Story, IN and caravan to Elkinsville
http://bit.ly/elkinsvilletour2020

Monroe Lake’s interpretive naturalist, Jill Vance, will offer a combination driving and walking tour through the former town of Elkinsville in Brown County on Monday, Nov. 16 at 1 p.m.

Due to Covid precautions, the tour will be limited to 10 people and all participants must drive themselves. Registration is required by Nov. 12 at bit.ly/elkinsvilletour2020. The tour fee is $10 per person.

Elkinsville was once a center of commerce and community for a remote part of Brown County. That all changed with the construction of Monroe reservoir. During this tour, participants will discover the history of this town, walk its former main street, and find out what happened to it after the lake went in.

Questions should be directed to Jill Vance at 812-837-9967 or [email protected].
