Join WonderLab educators for the book Southwest Sunrise by Nikki Grimes with illustrations by Wendell Minor. After the award-winning story about a boy that moves from New York to New Mexico, we will talk about mountains in new Mexico and do a hands-on activity to learn how they formed. Science Story Time allows young scientists to develop literacy and STEM skills as well as build vocabulary by actively participating in the program. Activities designed for ages 3-6. All welcome.

In this edition of Dive Deeper we will be talking about overfishing and destructive fishing practices. From deep sea trawling to shark finning, we will talk about the fishing methods that are destroying our oceans and through a matching game will discuss how you can pick sea food that has been sustainably harvested or aquacultured. We will be covering educational standards for 1st, 4th, and 5th grade Earth and Space Science Standards. All welcome. Activities designed for all ages.
